Solana Development Roadmap

Solana is a public blockchain platform with smart contract functionality and SOL as its native cryptocurrency. It was first proposed in 2017 and its fist block was created on 16th march'20. This is understood as a big competitor to Ethereum with a higher transactions per second (~65000) and lower gas fee.  It enables developers to write on-chain programs in general purpose programming language such as Rust . Rust is a multi-paradigm, general purpose programming language that emphasis performance, type safety and concurrency. I found two amazing rust resources that helped me gear up my track to learn solana development: 1. Rust Book:  The Rust Programming Language - The Rust Programming Language (rust-lang.org) 2. Rust by Excercism:  Rust on Exercism Another youtube channel let's get rusty has amazing videos to learn from. Web3 fundamentals are backbone to any blockchain and so for solana. Learn solana development in detail from Solana cookbook  and start writing s...

pip install xgboost

I have tried a million ways over years to by-pass all the certs/securities but never had a one right way to do this, xgboost is a very popular ml algorithm but been hard to install. This time finally I made it happen. I downloaded the wheel file directly and installed it to make this happen right. I also have a video for this but this article shows step by step process on how to do it right. Here is how: Open command window from start menu in windows: Fig1: Open Command Window Go to the website to find unofficial binaries 👉 here , find the desired .whl file, in this case, we are looking for xgboost, and download the compatible version with your machine and python: Fig2: The Unofficial Binaries Locate the downloaded file on your machine: Fig3: Locate the Files Install from cmd using pip: Fig4: Install the file  And you are done, you can also follow these steps from my video here:

Power Query - I : Dynamic Connection To Latest Data in Database

If coding/automation is not about us fooling the machine to get our work done, we haven't yet exploited our powers enough. I, in my daily life, do all sorts of problem-solving involves complex coding, cloud computing, etc. but I get my real kick when I solve the smallest problem like hacking excel, or automation of workflow using power query. Here is my latest gig, I tried to connect to an excel in SharePoint and ensure that every time the database is updated my query picks the latest file. This is the first time I am using power query and it sounds so powerful. So without further delay, let's see what I did: 1.  Connect Excel to DataBase:  Open an excel file, Select  Data  from the green ribbon, go to  Get  Data , select the drop-down on  From File , and connect to share point select  From SharePoint Folder.  Fig1: Select DataBase Once you select the database which is SharePoint in our case, you will get a window like this popping up to conn...

What Do Data Scientists Do? - Joma Tech

Data science is not about making complicated models. It's not about making awesome visualizations It's not about writing code data science is about using data to create as much impact as possible for your company Now impact can be in the form of multiple things It could be in the form of insights in the form of data products or the form of product recommendations for a company  Now to do those things, then you need tools like making complicated models or data visualizations or writing code But essentially as a data scientist your job is to solve real company problems using data and what kind of tools you use we don't care Now there's a lot of misconception about data science, especially on YouTube and I think the reason for this is because there's a huge misalignment between what's popular to talk about and what's needed in the industry.  So because of that, I want to make things clear. I am a data scientist working for a GAFA company and those companies emp...

How Did Data Science Contribute During Pandemic?

The Covid-19 has been a battle of technology with nature, while the world was already enjoying a high-tech lifestyle taking about nature being understood well, robot taking care of all the needs, we thought we didn't need anything supernatural to decide our lifestyle, we can create our own climate, crops don't need rain anymore, water can be artificially created, no more dependence on fossil fuels for energy, fight against the unprecedented pandemic has slowed us down to start thinking from the base again. Yes, one of the fanciest jobs of the decade being "Data Scientist" meant almost "Know It All". But it also means the availability of data is the prime need. Can data science work without data? Of course not. But yet played a role since the first data point found.  Most of the assumptions made during our models seemed to not work as we saw more and more of these pandemic days. It's now clear, that there hasn't been such event in the past where our m...

What Is The Most Preferred Coding Language ?

I can code in 9 different programming language, Does that help? Does this increase my chances of getting hike? How did I learn? How do I switch on/off mode for different languages?  Programming languages are about compatibility of the system, about the legacy of the utility and comfort of programmer. Be it either of these in picture, its important to know what you are doing and have logic in mind. Like any other spoken language, computer languages are about communication in the easiest possible way. My personal favorite is Python. Its free, its mature, its flexible, its fast, its easy to learn and most importantly its a popular language in demand.  Simple:  Python is a readable and understandable language.  Free:  This programming technology is free and open.  Compatible:  Python offers compatibility with various platforms.  Object-oriented:  Python supports procedure-oriented and object-oriented programming.  Libraries:  There are ...

How Much Do Grades Matter?

Knowledge is important publications are not. Your degree might help you get somewhere but to grow you need to really know beyond your grades. This is becoming super popular with so many successful colleges drop out folks around yet it's important to know it all, why did they drop out?because they had an Idea!  Very important to talk about, while everyone was studying securing good grades, what were you doing? Alright, you said you didn't want to part of a herd then what? Did you find your kingdom on your own? Did you make sure you utilized the time well? Did you do all that you wanted? If yes you might already know by now where your interests lie, if not yet you sure need to give more thoughts to it. Back to grades, I would say a straight no what matters is your attitude. Are you a hard-working successful fellow or a smart-working professional. Hard-work can take you anywhere but it can also take others there as well. Then, if you are competing, if you want to stand-...
